Case Overview
Our client, deceived by an SNS community impersonating a well-known financial channel and a fake app impersonating a securities firm, remitted a large sum exceeding KRW 200 million to accounts in the names of the defendant corporation and individual under the pretext of an institutional-only discounted IPO share allocation.
Our Strategy
DAEON's attorneys named both the corporation that circulated the borrowed-name bank accounts and the individual account holder as defendants, filed a forceful Damages suit, and applied all-round legal pressure by warning of immediate asset seizure and the possibility of compulsory enforcement. Through meticulous proof and strategic conduct of the litigation, we obtained a Court-Approved Settlement decision requiring the defendants to pay our client KRW 100 million each, KRW 200 million in total, in installments within fixed deadlines—perfectly achieving substantive recovery at the level of the principal without the burden of prolonged litigation.
