Our client went to confront an acquaintance who had failed to repay a loan, and the argument escalated into a physical scuffle. In the course of the scuffle, a bystander who tried to break up the fight was also drawn into the altercation.
Our Strategy
Our client was booked for assault and aggravated assault. Although he was charged with having used a dangerous object, DAEON's attorneys maintained throughout that he had never struck anyone with the surrounding furnishings, securing a 'no suspicion' finding on the aggravated assault charge. On the simple assault charge, we brought about a settlement with the victim and closed the matter.
