The plaintiff (our client) was drawn via SNS into an organized electronic financial fraud by a ring impersonating a well-known travel agency ('Onsaemiro Tour'), baited with a travel-review event and a refund of booking mileage. The ring repeatedly induced large remittances under implausible false pretexts such as completing team missions, rebooking, and requests to certify the legitimacy of assets, and the plaintiff, having even taken out a card loan, was defrauded of more than KRW 49.09 million in total. Facing severe financial and emotional ruin, the plaintiff came to DAEON Law Firm and filed a Damages suit against the account holders (the defendants).

DAEON's attorneys forcefully argued that the defendants' act of transferring or lending the access media and account information for accounts in their own names used in the fraud clearly constituted negligent aiding and abetting of a joint tort under the Civil Act, having facilitated the crime. This secured the full KRW 51,919,400, combining the actual losses and Consolation Money, plus default interest at 12% per annum, with the defendants also ordered to bear all litigation costs—a perfect win that wiped away our client's tears.
