The victim was 17 at the time; the defendant, who had been drinking with the victim's older sister, recognized that the victim had lost consciousness and committed the offense. Although the defendant told the court he 'could not remember,' the victim's statements were consistent, and the messages she left with those around her immediately after the offense plainly conveyed her shock and terror.

The victim was a minor at the time of the offense and, being intoxicated, was in no condition to resist. From the earliest stage, I built a strategy that supported the victim's psychological stability while ensuring her rights would be fully protected throughout the criminal proceedings. It gave the victim a foothold from which to rebuild her daily life, and beyond criminal punishment, I took steps to activate legal safeguards against further harm. Above all, when a victim or her family rushes into a settlement emotionally in cases like this, it can seriously affect the legal outcome. Settlement amounts can differ by tens of millions of won, and the result may end up favoring the perpetrator. In this case, too, I delivered real results on both fronts, protecting the victim and punishing the offender, and I am confident in combining strategic negotiation with decisive action when representing victims of sex crimes.
